Mr. William (Billy) Edward Smith, 60, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 12, 2023, surrounded by his mom and sister. Born Oct. 4, 1962, and the son of Edward (Smitty) William Smith and Mary Kelley Smith, Billy grew up and was educated in Pocomoke City, Md.
Billy lived a meaningful and fulfilling life. He was carefree and his spirit lives on and continues to inspire and uplift others. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Billy was an Army veteran and served our country. Billy also worked as an automobile mechanic, auto body worker, painter, tow-truck driver, auto salesman, and junking and demolition specialist.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, William Edward Smith and Mae Lankford Smith, Berkley Bowman Kelley and Lois Lesceallette Kelley.
Survivors are his mom; sister, Karen Ann Trader and husband Brian; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special aunt, Janice Elliott, a special cousin, Vickie Annis, a very special nephew, Kristian Skyler Trader, his wife and family, whom he looked up to; a special boss and very, very dear friend, Timmy Dyson; and let’s not forget his pitbull, Roger.
Services were conducted with a viewing on Tuesday, May 16, from 7 to 8 p.m., and funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home, Temperanceville, with Pastor Kristian Trader officiating and interment following at Downing’s Cemetery in Oak Hall.
