The Eastern Shore of Virginia 9-1-1 Center announces that its 2022 Telecommunicator of the Year is Niasia Scarborough.

Scarborough has been with the ESVA 9-1-1 Center since January 2019.

She currently serves as one of its certified training officers and, in that role, is responsible for assisting in the transition of new employees from classroom to console.

Scarborough is known for her ability to stay calm during chaotic calls and her outstanding display of compassion with 9-1-1 callers.

“Scarborough is a tremendous asset to the ESVA 9-1-1 Center and faithfully serves the community with professionalism and dedication,” according to her nomination.

Niasia was nominated by her peers and selected by a panel of public safety representatives.
