Mr. Dorty Lee “D.L.” Webb Jr., 85, of Parksley, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He and his wife Elsie Fuller Webb enjoyed 53 years of marriage together.
Born Jan. 14, 1938, in Mears, he was the son of the late Dorty Lee Webb and the late Essie Mae Chase Webb. D.L. was a building contractor for 55 years and was owner/operator of D.L. Webb & Son. He graduated from Atlantic High School and served his country in the United States Air Force, Airman 2nd Class. Among other duties during his service, D.L. was a military police officer while stationed in London, England. He was a member of St. James’ Episcopal Church in Accomac.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his three children, Donovan Webb (Bonnie) of Parksley, Jessica Webb Brown (Doug) of Parksley, and Erica Webb (Amy Lewis) of Fairfax, Va.; and a grandson, Brendan Blackwelder of Parksley. D.L. was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Catherine “Kaye” Henderson-Duncan, formerly of San Antonio, Texas; good friends, Ed Drummond and C.L. Bundick; and his buddy, Sidney Paige Sherwood, with whom he enjoyed daily pool games at “Webb’s Pool Hall.”
No public services are planned.
