Mr. Dickie Lee Williams, 81, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at his home in southside Chesconnessex,  with his family at his side. Born Jan. 19, 1942, he was the only son of the late Lee Fosque Williams and Marjorie Spence Williams.

A lifelong resident of southside Chesconnessex and graduate of Onancock High School, class of 1960, Dickie was well known and beloved throughout the Eastern Shore community. As the owner and operator of Williams Used Cars, he provided affordable and reliable vehicles to countless people over several decades. Everyone enjoyed being around Dickie, and he often had a handful of people stop by the shop at any given time throughout the day. He looked forward to watching a good horse race and playing a hand (or two) of poker, especially when he was winning. Dickie cherished his family and every moment spent with them, and if you were lucky enough to be one of his grandchildren or a cute, cuddly animal, you could get anything you wanted. Dickie Williams positively impacted the lives of many throughout his life and will be fondly remembered for his kind smile, gentle nature, and genuine compassion for all.

In addition to his parents, Dickie was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Lorraine Williams, and sister, Carolyn Powell. He is survived by his children, Rick Williams and his wife, Brady, of Parksley, and Angie McCullough and her husband, Dwayne, and D.L. Williams and his wife, Michelle, all of Onancock; sister, Joyce Stevens of Onancock; aunt, Evelyn Roberts of Maryland; grandchildren, Stuart (Phoebe) McCullough of Ashland, Va., Lauri (Tommy) Boucher of Woodland Hills, Calif., River (Jennifer) Williams of Ramstein AFB, Germany, Corbin Williams of Melfa, and Kady (Shane) Smith of Pungoteague; great-grandchildren, Cailin and Camden McCullough, Carolina, Corbin-Lee, Karson and Aulden Williams, Cheyenne Smith, and Benjamin Boucher; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. John Cullop officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. The family greeted friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
