A Pocomoke City, Md., woman was fatally injured Friday evening while crossing U.S. Route 13 at the T’s Corner intersection when she was hit by two southbound vehicles.
Latasha Blake, 38, of the 400 block of Banks Street, Pocomoke City, sustained fatal wounds after being hit by the second vehicle, which did not stop at the scene, according to state police.
The second vehicle is described as a black Jeep with New York license plates, the state police reported in a prepared release. An investigation remains open.
The deceased woman “illegally crossed the traffic lanes,” according to police, at the intersection of Lankford Highway and Chincoteague Road.
The first driver, who had the green light, was unable to avoid the pedestrian and hit her before the Jeep hit her.
