Mr. Carlton William “C.W.” Marshall, 85, of Saxis, passed away on March 21, 2023, in Salisbury, Md.
Born on Nov. 4, 1937, in Sanford, he was the son of the late Carlton Guy Marshall and the late Edna Shaw Marshall. C.W. was a waterman from the age of 16. He was a member of Chincoteague Church of God and enjoyed fishing and boats. He especially loved the water and his work as a waterman.
C.W. is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Jim) Moyer of Miona; a son, Guy Marshall of Sanford; two granddaughters, Kasey Moyer (Mike) Chanov and Rylee Elizabeth Marshall; three grandsons, James Paul (Anna) Moyer III, Dylan William Marshall, and Duane Christopher (Chelsea) Read; a great-grandson, Kiprian James Chanov; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Belle Chanov.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Walker Marshall; his second wife, Sharon Jester Marshall; and his sister, Joyce Lewis.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2 p.m. from Thornton Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thornton Funeral Home.
