An Accomack County man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday.
Ricky Ricardo Jones, 63, of Parksley, died after being ejected from his vehicle, the state police said.
At approximately 6:55 p.m., state police were called to investigate a two-vehicle crash on Route 13, south of Nelsonia Road intersection.
Jones was the driver river of a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, traveling southbound on Route 13 beside a 2014 Freightliner tractor trailer.
Jones lost control of the vehicle, sideswiped the tractor trailer, lost control and ran off the roadway, striking a tree head on, state police.
Jones, of the 27400 block of Gargatha Landing Road, Parksley, died injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the tractor trailer was unharmed. Jones was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and it is unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor.
