Mr. Edward Wimbrow, known as “Skinny” to friends, husband of the late Frances Young Wimbrow, passed away at 99 years of age on March 14, 2023, at his residence in Accomac.
Born on July 9, 1923, in Signpost, Md., he was the son of the late John William Wimbrow and the late Lillian Gunter. Charles was an avid fisherman and staunch Yankees fan. He built a beach home at Smith’s beach and enjoyed many years there with family and friends. Charles was a serviceman and salesman for Suburban Propane for over 45 years. He also enjoyed his annual winter trips with his wife to Florida.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Sandra Finney of Parksley; four grandchildren, Gregory Edward Finney, Douglas Scott Finney, Kristie Renee Finney, and John Michael Finney; and six great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents and his wife of 73 years, Frances, he was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Wimbrow.
Funeral services will be private.
Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
