Ms. Diane Y. Washington, 64, of Richmond, formerly of the Shore, suddenly transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home quietly and peacefully on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Parksley, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Linwood Washington and the late Betty S. Schoolfield.
Diane received her education in the Accomack County Public School System. She worked at the Golden Pride Poultry Company in Stockton, Md. until it closed its doors. She then moved to Virginia Beach for a number of years and then relocated to Richmond until she was called home to be with the Lord. While in Richmond, she loved to attend different churches in the area and help wherever she was needed. One thing she loved to do was serve others.
At an early age, Diane confessed her belief in God and joined the First Baptist Church in Mappsville.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 at the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Calvin Washington officiating. Interment was in the Wharton Cemetery, Parksley.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories and legacy, her son, Antwine Washington; four grandchildren, Cameron Sheppard, Brinakja, Carmel, and Sincere Washington; brothers, Pastor Calvin (Lisa), Gregory (Karen), Tonie (Tassha), and Devon (Stella) Washington, stepbrothers, Steve (Darlene) and Tyrone (Shirley); stepsisters, Rita (Relford), Valestine, and Yvonne; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
