Mr. Larry D. Fletcher, 68, of Mappsville, was called to rest on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Norfolk Sentara Hospital in Norfolk.

Born in Accomack County, Larry was the second child of the late John C. and Margaret Fletcher.

Larry attended Accomack County Public Schools and was once a long-term resident of Accomac, where he acquired the nickname “Norton” and became one of the original “Accomac Boys.”

Larry entered the workforce as a teenager and had several careers during his life. He was employed at Holly Farms (now Tyson Foods), Perdue, as a truck driver, and lastly at Matthews Market until his retirement.

Larry became a member of the Georgetown Lodge No. 115 in May 1995. Georgetown later merged with Accomac Lodge No. 62 in June 2007, where Larry maintained his membership and support. Larry was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Mappsville, and served faithfully on usher and trustee boards.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, from First Baptist Church, Mappsville, with the Rev. Fred Crawley officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Turner Crippen; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Ralph Fletcher, Debbie Baker, Valerie Fletcher, Sandra Handy, and Celestine Shrieves; two aunts; two uncles; six nephews; three nieces; and many, many cousins and friends.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
