Andrew B. Melson III


Mr. Andrew Broadus “ABM” Melson III, 77, resident of Arkansas, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 27, 1944, in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of the late Andrew Broadus Melson Jr. and the late Ruth Horton Melson.
Andy “Bub” graduated from Wheaton High School in 1963. He furthered his education at Benjamin Franklin University School of Accounting. After obtaining his degree, he then served in the Army’s accounting department at Ft. Meade, Md. He was also part of the rifle team and won several awards in this capacity. After retiring from the Army, he worked as an accountant with various firms then ventured out on his own. He was an entrepreneur by nature, he owned his own construction/real estate and crop-dusting businesses, and then became a property manager when he moved to Arkansas. He loved to hunt, fish, boat, fly, and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth Melson; his three children, Sharon, Mark, and William; and four grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later time.
