Mr. Samuel Benjamin Thoren was born Sept. 17, 1983. He was taken too soon from his family and friends on June 9, 2022, at the age of 38.
Sam attended Northampton County schools. He had an innate ability to make people laugh with his contagious personality, a winsome smile, and his spontaneity. He was a carpenter by trade. He loved wood and made beautiful things such as cutting boards, boxes, and unique items with exotic woods, which he gave to many family members and friends.
Sam loved baseball and played all his life, from T-ball through high school and then onto other teams. He brought home a lot of trophies. His favorite was a co-ed team called “No Choice.”
Sam is survived by his mother, Mary Esparza; father, Dan Thoren; sister, Melody Thoren Reynolds; and many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. His birth mother is Julie Anderson, and he has a sister, Hannah, and brother, Mikey.
A memorial baseball game will be Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at 3 p.m., at Accomack Field. Come to the field with bats and mitts and help his family celebrate his life in this way.
