Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” Fisher Stephens, 89, of Atlantic, passed away Sept. 1, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Assawoman on Aug. 12, 1933, a daughter to the late Frank and Cynthia (Thornton) Fisher.

She was a member of Assawoman United Methodist Church and a charter member of Atlantic Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She worked as Dr. Fletcher’s secretary in Horsey for many years and then for Virginia Welcome Center in New Church. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Cindy Revell Smith, and her husband, Timmy, of Atlantic; son, Wayne H. Revell, and Cynthia, of Atlantic; granddaughter, Lindsay Revell Lang, and her husband, Jason, of Atlantic; two grandsons, Justin P. Revell and his wife, Alyssa, of Atlantic, and Brandon F. Revell, of Atlantic; great-grandson, Wyatt Alan Revell, of Atlantic; two great-granddaughters, Darcy Revell Lang, of Atlantic, and Parker Belle Revell, of Atlantic; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Revell, of Jenkins Bridge; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Alan Revell; and husband, Earl Stephens.

Private family funeral services will be held with the Rev. Maury Enright officiating. A private family burial will take place in the John W Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Temperanceville. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at 1 p.m., at Atlantic Volunteer Fire Company, 10071 Atlantic Road, Atlantic, VA 23303. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Assawoman United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 61, Assawoman, VA 23302, or Atlantic Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 207, Atlantic, VA 23303.
