Mr. Tommy Mason, 64, of Atlantic, departed this life Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Nassawadox, Tommy was the beloved son of the late Clarence and Dixie Mason. At an early age, Tommy joined and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Bloxom. He was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. He then joined the workforce and was employed as a farm worker, at Tyson Foods, and lastly, at Perdue Farms, in Accomac, until health issues occurred.

On May 27, 1989, Tommy was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Avon Bell. They shared 33 blissful years together.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Bloxom, with the Rev. Tammy P. Wise and the Rev. Milton P. Bunting officiating.

He leaves cherished memories to his loving wife, Avon Mason; sons, Edward Bell, Shamus Bell, and Edwin Banks; daughters, Yvonne Haggins and Sherima Bell; one grandchild he raised as his own, Shanell Bell; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Willie Mason, Rudolph Handy, and Roger Mason; sisters, Ineta McLaughlin and Alice Townsend; four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; his nurse, Helen Vinnie; his Rolling Acres family; his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly; and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
