A Maryland man was found not guilty of a charge of malicious maiming in Accomack Circuit Court.
Kevin Lee Lovett, 59, of Stockton, Md., was found not guilty by Circuit Judge W. Revell Lewis III after hearing testimony from Lovett and the alleged victim.

An Accomack County man pleaded guilty to embezzlement from the Parksley Dollar General Store in a plea agreement with the county prosecutor.
Antron Deveek Byrd, 42, of Parksley, was sentenced to one year in jail with all but time served suspended. He will be on supervised probation for two years and is required to be on good behavior for three years. He must pay the $1,310 restitution in full by the end of 2023. Testimony showed a company asset protection manager showed an unusual number of voided transactions at the store. When confronted, Byrd confessed to voiding the transactions and taking the amount in cash.

An Accomack County woman pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a police officer, while a charge of obstruction was dropped.
Amanda Lynn Bare, 25, of Bloxom, was sentenced to two years with all but the six-month mandatory minimum for assaulting a law enforcement officer suspended. She will have five years of supervised probation when released and must be on good behavior for five years. She was remanded to jail to begin serving her time.
