Experimental Film Virginia hosted its Reel & Raw film premiere Saturday, July 30, at the Historic Palace Theatre in Cape Charles. Fifteen short films were screened in front of a packed house. The films were produced by an international group of writers, directors, cinematographers, dancers, and choreographers.
“Bound,” a romantic dance film, was among the crowd favorites. It starred and was directed by Emeline Rochefeuille and Jakob Jakoubek, professional dancing partners based in Berlin. “Bound” captivated audiences with its lighting techniques and the way it successfully merged dancing, music, and cinema through rhythm and smooth editing transitions.
