Mrs. Dorietha E. Lilliston, 69, of Melfa, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Nassawadox Rehab & Nursing Center in Nassawadox.
Born in Melfa, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Jones.
Dorietha was educated in the Accomack County Public School System and graduated from Central High School. She furthered her education at ESCC and studied early childhood education. She worked for the Accomack County Public Schools as a special education assistant for 23 years until her health failed.
Dorietha served as stewardess at Burton’s Independent Methodist Church and loved the Lord.
Dorietha leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, James Lee Lilliston; son, James Anthony Lilliston; daughter, Michelle Lilliston-Sabatino; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, William Jones and Larry Jones; sisters, Rosalie Showell and Helen Johnson; sisters-in-law, Elder Diane Jones, Julia Lilliston, and Marie Fletcher; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends to the family.
Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
