Mr. David Eugene O’Brien, 79, of Onley, husband of Susan O’Brien, passed away on July 19, 2022, at Shore Rehab in Parksley.
Born Aug. 31, 1942, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Harold O’Brien and Eleanor Droneburg O’Brien. David served in the Air National Guard. Known in the construction community as “OB,” David loved building. He also enjoyed offshore fishing and drag racing with his team, the Duquesne Drag Team. He loved all animals, especially Old English Sheepdogs.
Other than his wife, David is survived by a daughter, Laura O’Brien Bingler (Billy), of Knightdale, N.C.; a son, Michael O’Brien (Jennifer), of Hallwood; a son, Roy Fowler (Mary), of Milton, Del.; sisters, Ellen Brendle (Tom), of Frederick, and Marsha Smith of Dover, Del.; grandchildren, Charlotte, Dean, and Olivia Bingler; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at 2 p.m., from the Onley Baptist Church in Onley, with the Rev. John Burr officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Onley Baptist Church or Friends of Animal Control Eastern Shore.
Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
