The 2022 major softball team from Shore Little League competed in the state tournament in Bridgewater, Va., from July 14 to 16 after winning the District 8 championship.

The tournament started with pool play for the first two days, which determined the teams seeding. Shore was unable to pull out a win during pool play and started the tournament 0-2. The team fought hard but lost in the first round of the state tournament.

Lela Lusk continued to show her talent in the circle for Shore throughout the tournament, recording a total of 14 strikeouts in 10.1 innings of work. At the plate, Caroline Caison led the team going seven for nine with three RBIs. Manager Justin Webb reported that most of the players on the squad are young for the majors age group and will be returning next year, where they hope to repeat as District 8 Champions and compete in the state tournament.

Shore Little League major softball team members, Ava Webb, Brynna Travis, Caroline Caison, Corrin Burrell, Hayden Cornish, Isabella Bono-Evans, Jordan Rae Lewis, Keely Castaneda, Kylie Vergara, Lela Lusk, Lily Scott, Ruby Buck, Rayleigh Caison, and Miranda Smith had a great season.
