The Central Accomack Little League senior softball team traveled to Luray, Va., to compete in the Virginia State Championship. The team started the season with a strong run in the District tournament going undefeated and brought home the District 8 Title.

Central Accomack competed in the first round of the state tournament against District 10 Friday, July 8. The squad earned a 13-0 victory and continued to dominate the competition until earning the Virginia Senior League State Banner. Central Accomack did not allow a single run throughout seven games in district and state tournament play.

Pitcher Reghan Hintz showed off her talent in the circle during the state championship, throwing four complete game shut-outs. Hintz tossed a total of 25 innings, allowing only 11 hits and two walks with 58 strikeouts.

Many of the Central Accomack players dominated at the plate with multiple hits in the tournament. Hintz led the team with a .571 batting average, including eight hits and four RBIs. Reagan Justice also had a strong tournament offensively, earning seven hits including two triples, two home runs, and five RBIs.
