Mr. Alfred John Burger, 76, husband of Dorothy Alberta Fyme Burger and a resident of Franktown, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock. A native of Mineola, N.Y., he was the son of the late Fred Burger and the late Albina Kordish Burger. He was a retired corrections officer for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, an Eagle Scout, Scout Leader, and an avid outdoorsman.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Burger and his wife, Emily, of Kings Park, N.Y., and Eric Burger and his wife, Jolene, of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; two sisters, Darilyn Alchermes and her husband, Steve, of Columbia, S.C., and Lorraine Black, of Everett, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Bella, Willow, Kellan, and Callia.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local Boy Scouts of America Chapter of one’s choice.
