Mr. Neil Thomas Annis, loving son, died suddenly at his home in New Orleans on March 27, 2022. He was 38 years old.
Neil was born in Blacksburg, Va., on Nov. 23, 1983. For many years, he worked in hospitality as an events manager and as a waiter and chef in many restaurants on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Virginia Beach, and in New Orleans. Cooking had always been his passion, and he loved to grow his own fresh herbs and mushrooms to flavor his dishes. In the last two years, Neil began a budding career in cyber security and absolutely loved his job, grasping the intricacies and advancing quickly within the company. He enjoyed building and riding electric bikes and recently started his own LLC called “Savage Cycles” as a part-time business.
Neil is survived by his mother, Laurel A. Mason; his father, George T. Annis; and his beloved daughter, Ava Levitt, who he simply adored.
A graveside service will be held at the Parksley Cemetery Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2 p.m., immediately followed by a gathering to celebrate Neil’s life at 27239 Barnes Circle, Parksley. The family invites all who knew Neil to attend and share in honoring his extraordinary life.
