The Lady Yellow Jackets hosted the West Point Pointers on Monday, April 11. Prior to the game, Northampton honored five seniors, who each dedicated years of hard work to the Yellow Jackets’ softball program: Mallory Hook, Charlotte Henderson, Katelyn Leatherbury, Kaylei Brady, and Heather Demarino.

Northampton was eager to take the field to give the seniors an afternoon to remember. West Point started out strong in the top of the first but the Lady Yellow Jackets quickly responded. Northampton’s offense was hot in the third inning, scoring a total of nine runs. Brady led off the inning for the Yellow Jackets, getting on base with a walk. Peyton Sayers followed with a single to shortstop, moving Brady to third. Henderson also drew a walk, loading up the bases for Hook.

Jillian Spence added an RBI in the inning before the Pointers were finally able to record two outs. With runners on second and third and two outs, Brady came to the plate for her second at bat of the inning.
