Mrs. M. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stonelake, 98, of Cape Charles, formerly of Glen Mills, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey E. Stonelake.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late M. Mildred Lessner (nee Thompson) and Charles C. Lessner. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Aldra Lauterbach (William), of Crofton, Va., and Jane Mitman (Henry), of Alexandria, Va.
She is survived by one daughter, Gwen S. Carroll (Elliott), of Cape Charles; three grandchildren, E. Paul Carroll, of Elverson, Pa., Jennifer Fitch (James), of Annapolis, Md., and Laura Davis (Ryan), of Middletown, Del.; four great-grandchildren, Kate and Christopher Fitch, of Annapolis, and Connor and Drew Davis, of Middletown.
To honor her wishes, funeral services will be private for immediate family, and interment will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.
