Mr. Edward “Paige” Trader Jr., from Chincoteague Island, passed away at the age of 40 on April 3, 2022, after succumbing to the disease of addiction. Paige was born in Salisbury, Md., on Oct. 7, 1981, to Elizabeth Ann Trader (Owen) and Edward Paige Trader Sr.

Paige was a beloved son and brother. He was bright, talented, and witty. Paige had a huge heart and sense of empathy toward animals and people. He was an all-star soccer player, black belt in karate, and loved science, nature, and the ocean. Paige often made his family laugh out loud over dinners with his sharp commentary and sense of humor. He loved his family and dogs, spending time on the ocean, and his sister, Nicole, was his best friend.

Paige had hopes and dreams for the future. He was looking forward to working, spending time with his family, and taking his dogs for walks. Paige felt a strong sense of giving and wanted to contribute to the beauty of the world. He was a beautiful soul, may he rest in peace.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Trader; father, Edward Paige Trader Sr.; stepmother, Mary Ann Trader; sister, Nicole Trader-Morgeson; sister-in-law, Jennifer Trader-Morgeson; stepsister, Hiezel Alcones; his dogs, Cloie and Rosco; and large extended family.

A private, closed service will be held for the family who are grieving this devastating loss.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Ocean Conservancy (https://oceanconservancy.org/) and/or Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA) (https://trosainc.org/) in Paige’s honor.
