Mr. John Cornelius “Neil” Drewer IV, 41, of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Temperanceville, passed away suddenly on Feb. 19, 2022, at his residence in Cleveland.
He was born in Nassawadox on March 16, 1980, to John and Ida Jane (Miller) Drewer, of Melfa. He graduated from Nandua High School with the class of 1998 and Eastern Shore Community College with an associate degree in electronics in 2001. He was a devoted employee for 21 years for the Surface Combat System Center on Wallops Island. Neil was a faithful servant of the Lord. He wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. He faithfully served on Sundays in the sound booth at church. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was a member of Chincoteague Church of God and was currently attending North Cleveland Church of God in Tennessee.
Neil is survived by his loving spouse, Crystal Wessells Drewer, of Cleveland; son, Jacob Connor Drewer, of Chincoteague Island; sister, Dawn Forrer, of Salisbury, Md.; brother, C.R. LeCato, of Onancock; brother-in-law, Ed Wessells, of Chincoteague Island; mother-in-law, Shirley Wessells, of Oak Hall; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Salyer Funeral Home Inc., on Chincoteague Island.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 2 p.m., at the Church of God, Chincoteague, with Pastor Kevin Stanley officiating.
