Deaconess Rosie M. Mills, 62, of Hallwood, departed this life Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Born in Assawoman, Rosie was the beloved daughter of the late Leon Harmon Sr. and the late Sarah E. Wharton Harmon. She was affectionately known as “Sister Rosie” by her family and friends.
In 1984, Sister Rosie was united in holy matrimony with her adoring husband, the late Noah Mills.
Sister Rosie was a faithful employee of Perdue Farms in Accomac for 36 years until her retirement in August 2021. Her last position held was a QA inspector.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Pastor Albert Bibbins officiating. Interment was in the St. Joseph Holiness Church Cemetery, Atlantic.
Deaconess Rosie leaves to cherish great memories: a loyal son, Anthony Harmon; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, John Harmon, Joanne Blake, Jeannette Gardner, and Gracie James; two uncles; one brother-in-law; special mother of her grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
