Mr. Norris Gray Colona, of Federalsburg, Md., passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 89.

He was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Hopeton, the son of the late Herbert Lilliston Colona and the late Margaret Betty Gray Colona.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He returned home and married Betty Jo Matthews Colona on Aug. 10, 1956.

He worked as an exterminator for most of his life for Hygenic Extermination Company and later retired from Terminix after 20 years of faithful service.

In his free time, he enjoyed everything outdoors. He loved to grow a garden and share his harvest with his family and friends. He also loved flowers, mowing the grass until dusk, and was a big believer in Gorilla Glue to fix anything. He attended Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg and loved to spend time with his wife, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Colona, of Federalsburg; a son, Norris Keith Colona, and his wife, Deena, of Federalsburg; two grandsons, Chris Smullen and his wife, Debra, of Seaford, Del., and Nicholas Colona; two great-grandchildren, Adrianah Smullen and Brantley Ray; a sister, Regina Taylor, of Easton, Md.; and two cousins, Annabelle Ross, of Assawoman, and Louis Justis, of Parksley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Starr Widdowson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg with the Bishop Ray Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Liberty Cemetery in Parksley.
