Mrs. Rosemary Lowrance Baylis Nelson, 75, of Guilford, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk. Born Aug. 3, 1946, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Mason James Taylor and the late Mary Elizabeth Wessells Taylor. Rosemary worked for the Eastern Shore Community Services Board and attended Baptist Bible Church.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her husbands, George “Sonny” Nelson and Wayne Roger Baylis, as well as her brother, Donald Taylor. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Timothy Wayne Baylis and his wife, Jennifer, of Eastville, Tammy Baylis, of Guilford, Jeffery Roger Baylis and his wife, Jennifer, of Guilford, Jaime Baylis Meilhammer and her husband, Bruce Jr., of Athens, Ga., and Christopher T. Baylis, of Modest Town; grandchildren, Courtney, Katlyn, Lindsey, Brittany, and Chelsea; step-grandson, Craig; great-grandsons, Brennan, Jaxon, and Wesley; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at 2 p.m.
