‘Significant Threat to Life and Property’: Coastal Flood Warning Continues Into Saturday

The National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., has issued an updated briefing highlighting the impacts from the ongoing coastal storm.

  • High confidence of moderate to major coastal flooding continuing tonight for areas adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay.  Water levels of 2 to 4 feet above normal tide will result in a significant threat to life and property. 
  • Period of greatest impact: Tonight through Saturday. Highest water levels are expected this evening.
  • All wind advisories and warnings have been dropped. 
  • Large breaking waves could cause instances of beach erosion today.
