The Nandua Warriors hosted their second home game of the season last Friday, Oct. 1. They played the Snow Hill Eagles, losing 48-7.

The Warriors got off to a rocky start. They fumbled on the first play of their opening drive and a series of turnovers and penalties on subsequent drives placed them behind the Eagles early on. Midway through the second quarter they trailed 27-0.

Although the Warriors were down, they still fought with a lot of heart. Quarterback Chayce Wayman completed a long pass to wide receiver Tyler Greene to drive them deep down the field. Soon afterwards, Greene scored with a 5-yard rushing touchdown to cut the lead to 27-7. In the second half, the Eagles pulled away and the Warriors were unable to get back in the game.

The Warriors’ look to gain their second victory of the season Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. They will host a Portsmouth Christian team hoping to remain undefeated.
