Cape Charles Woman Dies in Saturday Night Crash

On Saturday evening, May 29, the Virginia State Police was called to investigate a single-vehicle crash that resulted in the fatality of the driver.
According to the VSP, preliminary investigations reveal that at approximately 7:55 p.m., Samantha Forsythe, 31, of Seaside Road in Cape Charles, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla eastbound on Seaview Drive, east of Fairview Road. Her car ran off the roadway into a ditch, then overcorrected into oncoming traffic, causing the vehicle to travel sideways and into a telephone pole, killing Forsythe upon impact.
At this time it is unknown if alcohol and speed played a contributing factor. Forsythe was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident. Notification has been made to family members.
