Nandua senior Cade Williams has officially announced he will continue his playing career at Delaware Tech this fall. The right-handed pitcher was a staple player on the 2019 Senior Little League team that won the Southeast Region and advanced to the World Series.

Widely known for his overall poise and control on the mound, Williams currently has a .526 batting average and a 1.432 ERA (earned run average) while holding a .818 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched) through seven games for Nandua this year. In his second year at Nandua playing for head coach Luke Brankley, he was named to the All-Region A second team as a pitcher.

Williams has played baseball for 12 years and has been part of the Eastern Shore Force and Eastern Shore Thunder travel teams for nine. Playing primarily in pitching rotations, the senior also plays infield and has competed on the Nandua swimming team. Last year, Williams was part of the boys relay teams that placed seventh in 2000-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.22 and placed eighth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:00.58 at the state meet.

Williams also excels in the classroom. With dual enrollment at the community college, he holds 4.08 GPA at Nandua and is a member of several clubs including BETA, Model General Assembly, and the National Honor Society.

He ultimately chose Delaware Tech over Wilson College and Messiah University for its strong baseball program that recently finished runner-up in the 2021 NJCAA Region 19 Championship Tournament. He’ll play under the Athletics’ head coach Stu Madden in the Region XIX of the National Junior College Athletic Association as he pursues a degree in either engineering or business.
