Mr. Thomas James McColligan passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. Born July 21, 1950, in Scranton, Pa., and reared in Dundalk, Md., he was a son of the late Evelyn Colman Francis and her husband, Earl, and Paul Patrick McColligan.

Following high school, Tom completed law enforcement training and moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, serving as an officer in the Town of Onancock for many years, and later, as a correctional officer with Accomack County. Tom proudly served his country as a member of the Virginia National Guard, and was quite possibly the biggest Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan to ever live.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas “Tommy” McColligan, of New York, Kelly McColligan, of Princess Anne, Md., Robby McColligan of Crisfield, Md., Jessica Daniels (Jonathan), of Chesapeake, Va., Christopher Muller (Katie), of Daytona, Fla., Bobbie Williams (Roland), of Parksley, and John McColligan, of Bloxom; stepdaughters, Lauren Divine, of Greensboro, and Sandy Francis, of Wattsville, and their families; sisters, Janet, Betty, Donna, and Cindy; brothers, Danny and Bobby; his best friend, David Matthews, who was like a brother; and several grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wives, Donna Divine McColligan and Tracy Peters McColligan; and granddaughter, Tracey Peters.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Parksley Cemetery on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kevon Rice officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Williams Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Parksley, VA 23421, to assist with funeral expenses.
