Mr. Leland “Lee” G. Woltman, 78, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at his home, with his loving wife of 41 years by his side. He was the husband of Gerry (Chivers) Woltman.

Born Dec. 13, 1942, in York, Pa., he was the only child of the late George and Helen (Kohler) Woltman. He was a 1961 graduate of William Penn High School.  He retired from Caterpillar Tractor, York, after 30 ½ years.  He was an active union member of Local 786. He was a life member of the 12th Ward Democratic club, York, a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 159, Chincoteague, where he volunteered. He also volunteered at The Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, where he was Volunteer of the Year in 2005. Lee was an avid hunter and fisherman and card player.  He enjoyed gathering family and friends together for picnics, egg hunts, and Halloween parties. He also had a love of nature and the water.

In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by a daughter, Deanna S. Lockner, and her husband, Bill, of East Berlin, Pa.; a son, James P. Moore, and his wife, Nicole, of York; a daughter, Sandra Woltman, of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Joshua Lockner, Holly Toomey, Jacob Toomey, T.J. Moore, Justyn Moore, Rameon Jordan, and Skylynn Woltman; and four great-grandchildren, Myah Toomey, Cole Ritter, Theo St. Pierre, and Eden Albert-Moore.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dana R. Woltman, and a daughter, Shonna L. Toomey.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, at 1 p.m., at The American Legion Post 159, 4023 Main St., Chincoteague Island, VA 23336. A  reception will follow.
