Mrs. Teresa Laverne West, 68, of Belle Haven, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at her residence.
Teresa’s sunrise was on June 8, 1952, a daughter to the late Leon Harmon Sr. and the late Sarah Elizabeth Wharton Harmon in Assawoman. Teresa was united in holy matrimony to Elizah West for 40 years.
Teresa was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac for 25 years until retirement. She then re-entered the workforce at Arcadia Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Parksley for 22 years, and there she found her passion until her retirement in 2017.
Private funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Cooper & Humbles Chapel, Accomac, with Pastor Albert L. Bibbins Jr. officiating. Interment was in the St. Joseph Holiness Church Cemetery, Atlantic.
Teresa leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Elizah West; daughter, Karen Onley; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, John Harmon, Joanne Blake, Jeannette Gardner, Rosie Mills, and Gracie James; two uncles; five stepchildren; mother-in-law, Frances West; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom she loved dearly.
