A wintry mix of snow and 35-mph winds blew over the Eastern Shore Jan. 28. Although the thermometer hovered around freezing, winds made the cold feel like a frosty 19 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., area accumulations varied from one half-inch to 1 inch.

Snow lovers might have further reason to rejoice this weekend if a forecast coastal low materializes.
