Mr. Richard Louis Norton Sr., 74, husband of Ruth Ann Squires Norton and a resident of Melfa, formerly of Eastport, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News. A native of Southampton, N.Y., he was the son of the late James L. Norton and the late Irene Kacinski Norton. He was a retired engineer for Grumman Aerospace.
In addition to his loving wife, Richard is survived by two children, Richard L. Norton Jr., of Melfa, and Amy Norton Rogers and her husband, Randy, of Southold, N.Y.; one sister, Marilyn Hidenlang, and her husband, David, of Randolph, N.J.; a granddaughter, Rebecca Rogers, of Southold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Melfa United Methodist Church, 19444 Main St., Melfa, VA 23410.
