Mrs. Catherine H. Edmonds, 85, of Onancock, slipped away from this earthly life on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at her residence.
Born in Cashville, Catherine was the beloved daughter of the late James E. Hill and Margie W. Hill. In 1970, Catherine married the love of her life, John Herman Edmonds. They shared 40 years of marriage until his demise in 2010. She first joined the workforce assisting her husband with his business ventures. Then she became a nurse’s assistant and lastly as a personal caregiver.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Bishop R. W. Hill officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Onancock.
Catherine leaves to cherish her memories: her adopted daughter, Barbara Collins; two adopted grandchildren; four sisters, Margie Hill, Bertha Brutten, Rosemary Hill, and Elizabeth Mumford; two brothers, Bishop R.W. Hill and Wilbert Hill; three stepdaughters, Eva M Marks, Joan Wilson, and C. Reneta Major; one stepson, Lawrence Bailey; four stepgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
