Mr. Anthony Loren Marshall, 59, of Tangier Island, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at his home.

Born Nov. 7, 1960, he was the son of Ruth Marie Wheatley Marshall, of Tangier, and the late Horace Lee Marshall Sr. Anthony was a waterman and member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.

Anthony was extremely outgoing and social. He was a kid at heart, a jokester, and always enjoyed making both adults and children laugh. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and devoted to helping his children, grandchildren, Mom, and family. He did not miss a day of getting his grandchildren to take them out, whether just a bike ride, swinging in the yard, feeding ducks, or to the beach. Rain or shine, his family could always depend on him, including taking Mya and Ava to school almost every morning. Anthony enjoyed cleaning, treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, and loved tending to his garden.

In addition to his Mom, survivors include his children, Rachel Brooke Marshall Trumble and her husband, Timothy, and Ethan Dale Marshall, all of Tangier; five grandchildren, Ava Taylor Marshall, Mya Emilyn Trumble, Seth Thomas Trumble, Hayden Tyler Marshall, and Morgan Paige Marshall; three sisters, Dixie Parks (Gary), Joan Thomas (Allen), and Rose Parks (Ernie), all of Tangier; a brother, Juke Marshall (Quinna), of Marion, Md.; sister-in-law, Barbara Marshall, of Tangier; aunts and uncles, Portia Pruitt (Edward), Tina Parks (Mike), Ginny Marshall, and Gordon Wayne Wheatley; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his father, Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Van Marshall; a baby sister, Dixie Lee Marshall; and aunts and uncles, Nolan Wheatley, Smith Marshall, Rose Parks (Vance), and Sandy Wheatley.

A funeral service will be held at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier Island on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., with Edward Pruitt, Duane Crockett, and Chuck Parks officiating. Interment will be in the Thorne Family Cemetery on Tangier. There will be a visitation at the church on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 until 8 p.m.
