Mr. Lawrence John Renas Jr., 81, of Locustville, beloved husband of 53 years to the late Josephine Marie Renas, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

Born Aug. 5, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. Renas Sr. and the late Julia Mae Renas.

Larry proudly retired from the U.S. Navy after a 20-year career as a Sr. Chief Electronic Technician and Vietnam War veteran. He then went on to a successful second career as a contractor at Northrop Grumman, at Wallops Island. Larry was a member of Masonic Central Lodge 300 in Onley. Larry was known for his sense of humor, intellect, laid back personality, and wonderful stories.

Larry is survived by his brother, William Kent Renas, and his spouse, Lynn; five loving children, Christina Marie Wood, of Virginia Beach, Lauren Marie Small, of Virginia Beach, Lawrence J. Renas III and his wife, Lisa, of Tacoma, Wash., Jeffrey J. Renas and his wife, Tracey, of Exmore, and Gregory J. Renas and his wife, Heather, of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, Lynne, Amanda, and Patricia Wood, Aubrey, Ariel, and Luke Small, Lawrence and Savannah Renas, Travis and Colin Renas, Kolby and Kayla Evans, Noah, Isaac, and Jonah Renas; seven great-grandchildren; one niece; and six nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Douglas Allan Renas, and his sister, Gay Renas Digby.

The family will gather for a private service in celebration of Larry’s life.
