Teen arrested, charged with making bomb threat against Nandua High, Nandua Middle School

Students at Nandua High School and Nandua Middle School were sent home early after a bomb threat was received Tuesday.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a bomb threat at the two schools at around 12:36 p.m., according to Accomack County Sheriff Todd Wessells.

A 14-year-old was arrested as result of investigation into the threat.

The person was charged with two counts of threatening to bomb or burn a building, and was transported to Norfolk Detention Center with bond denied, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Virginia State Police, Onley Police Department, Onancock Police Department, and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
