Warrior Swimmers Advance to States

The Nandua boys and girls swimming teams participated in the Division II, Region A tournament last Wednesday, Feb. 12. The tournament was held in Williamsburg, Va., at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex and saw both boys and girls from Nandua take third place overall. It was a highly successful meet for the Warriors, as several swimmers posted personal bests, advancing them to the state tournament.

Lady Warrior Results:

Girls Medley Relay – Second place, Lacy Gouldin, Madison Johnson, -Taylor Thornes, and Anne Davis
Girls 200m Individual Medley – Second place, Lacy Gouldin
Girls 50m Free – Third place, Madison Johnson. Fifth place, Taylor Thornes
Girls 100m Butterfly – Third place, Taylor Thornes
Girls 500m Freestyle – Fourth place, Rachel Gouldin. Fifth place, Jamie Wert
Girls 200yd Relay – Third place, Nora Bahn, Alexandera Penland, -Maggie Killmon, and Elena Buckner.
Girls 100m Backstroke – Fourth place, Lacy Gouldin
Girls 100m Breaststroke – Second place, Madison Johnson
Girls 400yd Relay – Fourth place, Maggie Killmon, Alexandra Penland, Jamie Wert, and Nora Bahn.

Boys Results:

Boys 200 Individual Medley – Fourth place, Grady Harmon
Boys 50m Freestyle – Second place, Luke Parks. Fifth place, Bennett Cossitt
Boys 100m Fly – Fourth place, Grady Harmon
Boys 100m Freestyle – Fourth place, Cade Williams
Boys 500m Freestyle – Third place, Patrick Lilliston
Boys 200yd Relay – Second place, Luke Parks, Bennett Cossitt, Cade Williams, and Patrick Lilliston.
