Mr. Paul Revere Lewis, 95, of Warsaw, Va., previously of Parksley, husband of the late Lola Milliner Lewis, passed away Jan. 28, 2020, at The Orchard – A Healthy Living Community in Warsaw, Va.

Born June 16, 1924, in Hunting Creek, he was the son of the late Samuel Thomas Lewis and Emma Kate Russell Lewis. Mr. Lewis served our country in the U.S. Army, First Division, in World War II. He landed on D-Day on Omaha Beach, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and ended the war in occupied Germany. He worked as a meter reader for ANEC for over 30 years and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. A great, contributing member of the community, Mr. Lewis was a previous Parksley town councilman, an officer and president for the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company, an avid setback card player and an ANEC Union member and past local union president.

Mr. Lewis is survived by a son, Donald Paul Lewis and wife, Margarita, of Ruther Glen, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lewis.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery.
