Mrs.  Melissa Abrams Annis Bowden, 54, of Chincoteague Island, passed away Jan. 23, 2020, at her residence on Chincoteague. 

She was born in Nassawadox, Sept. 29, 1965, to Wayne and Charlotte (Bloxom) Abrams.

She loved to fish, crab, go to the beach and sunbathe. She had a huge love for the outdoors and life.

Mrs. Bowden is survived by her husband, Thomas Wayne Bowden Jr., of Chincoteague; two daughters, Susan Annis, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Stephanie Muslimani and her husband, Ray, of Bloxom; son, Thomas Wayne “Trey” Bowden III, of Pocomoke City, Md.; father, Wayne Abrams and his wife, Trish, of New Church; brother, Charles Parks Abrams, of Tasley; grandson, Shane Annis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two granddaughters, Natalya Cortigine, of Temperanceville, and Mackenzie Muslimani, of Bloxom; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas Wayne Bowden Sr. and Yvonne Marie Bowden, of Chincoteague; two brothers-in-law, Randy Bowden Sr. and Robby Bowden and his wife, Angelisa, all of Chincoteague; sister-in-law, Crystal Ebberts, of Chincoteague; three aunts, Charlene Jacob, of Accomac, Peggy Bradford and her husband, Wesley, of New Church, and Linda Hall, of Chincoteague; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by mother, Charlotte Bloxom Abrams; grandparents, Juanita Highlander, Charles Bloxom Jr., and Cecil and Alice Abrams; and two uncles, Thomas Jacob III and Tommy Hall.

Service will be held privately at a later date.
