Mr. Paul Mitchell Gammell, Ph.D, 80, husband of Betty Gammell and a resident of Exmore, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk. A native of Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Lewis Gammell and the late Mildred Gammell. He was a retired physicist, had a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, master’s degree from American University, doctorate in physics from Catholic University, and attended Exmore Baptist Church.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by her children, Bob Renner Jr. and his wife, Marlaine, of Salisbury, Md., Teresa Britt and her husband, Steve, of Union Bridge, Md., Don Renner, of Exmore, and Bill Renner of Hebron, Md.; a brother-in-law, Paul Clifford; six grandchildren, Roxanne Boseman and her husband, James, Bob Renner, Jessica Jones, Jon Renner, Kevin Britt and his wife, Danielle, and Tyler Britt; a niece, Paula Spain; two nephews, Jay Clifford and David Clifford; two great-granddaughters; a great-grandson due in December; and a great-great-grandson due in February. He was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Gammell; two sisters, Barbara Clifford and Ellen Jane Cutter; and a nephew, Meade Clifford.
