Mrs. Ina Rae Adams, 75, of Chincoteague Island, went home to be with the Lord July 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family in her home.

She was born on Chincoteague Island Aug. 20, 1943, to the late William R. and Oneita Birch Daisey.

She displayed her love of God, her church, and her fellow man serving as the secretary at Island Baptist Church for 25 years. In addition to that role, she taught Sunday School, was actively involved in the women’s ministries and the church choir, and was captain of the prayer chain.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 57 years, George Greeley Adams, of Chincoteague; son, Bryan Adams, of Chincoteague; daughter, Renee Adams Whealton and her husband, Daniel, of Pocomoke, Md.; granddaughter, Victoria Whealton, of Pocomoke; and grandson, Barrett Whealton and his wife, Jennifer, of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; sister, Betty Jean Savage and husband, Terry; two nephews, Kenneth Jay Savage and wife, Denise, of Chincoteague, and Robert Moore and wife, Susan, of Salisbury, Md.

Mrs. Adams’ kindness and love for the Lord had no bounds, warming the hearts of everyone in her presence. Her Christian beliefs were seen in the way she lived her life, served her church, and in her joy in being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Oneita, and her sisters, Joyce Lee Watson and Helen Moore.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Island Baptist Church, Chincoteague, with Pastor Jason Scites and Chaplain Larry Lilly officiating.
