Melfa Man Killed in Norfolk Was Shot in the Head

By Linda Cicoira — A Melfa man, who was killed in a shooting last week, in Norfolk, Va., died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

Markee Turner, 29, of Seaside Road, died at the scene of the shooting in the 6500 block of North Military Highway. The death was ruled a homicide. The incident occurred Thursday July 25.

Tamian Davis, 23, of Clover Hill Drive in Portsmouth, Va., was also injured in the shooting. He was taken to a hospital in Norfolk, where he later died from his injuries.

Dispatchers received a report of “a gunshot disturbance” at about 7:50 p.m. When police arrived, they located the two victims inside a parked car.

A motive or circumstances surrounding the deaths have not been disclosed.
