Mr. Winfred Parker “Whitey” Miller, 87, beloved husband of Clara Alice Thornes Miller, of Bloxom, reached out peacefully to the loving arms of his Lord Thursday, June 13, 2019.
Born May 3, 1932, in Southside Chesconnessex, he was a son of the late Charles Lee “Charlie” Miller and the late Daisy Mae Carmine Miller. Mr. Miller was a retired poultry farmer, a dedicated Christian, and attended Independent Pilgrim Church. He treasured and loved his wife and family; was the best father-in-law; enjoyed listening to gospel music; and took pride in taking care of his home and yard.
In addition to his loving wife, survivors include three children, Beverly Ann Anderson, Brenda Faye Miller, and Wayne Parker Miller and his wife, Gloria, all of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, Robert Halfill, Troy Somers, Tonya Somers, and Christopher Miller; five great-grandchildren, Julian, Jacob, Areial, and Orin Somers, and Amaris Miller; a brother, Gerald Miller and his wife, Shelby, of Bloxom; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service was conducted at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Monday, June 17, 2019, with the Rev. Wayne Asbury officiating. Interment followed in the Quinby Cemetery.
