Mrs. Helen K. Doughty, 95, wife of the late Thomas Walter Doughty and a longtime resident of Onancock, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, at Commonwealth Senior Living in Onancock. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, N.J., she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Kulchikowsky.

Following high school, Mrs. Doughty met the love of her life, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Devoted to raising her children, it wasn’t until they were older that Mrs. Doughty began working at the former R&G Shirt Factory in Parksley, and later, for Roses Department Store in Onley. Throughout her childhood, she attended St. Spiridon Russian Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy and was a longtime member of Clark Presbyterian Church in Daugherty. Nothing was more important to Mrs. Doughty than her family, and she especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Jane D. Clark and husband, Eddie, of Daugherty; grandchildren, Jamie Clark and wife, Dana, Thomas Clark and wife, Sarah, and Stacey Clark; great-grandchildren, Tyler Clark, Levin Champlin, and Violet Clark; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Robert T. Doughty and Richard A. Doughty; sister, Mary K. Gal; and brother, Steve Kulchikowsky.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home Wednesday, June 12, 2019, with Mrs. Sherri Brown officiating. Interment was in the Mount Holly Cemetery.
